THE DAILY RELEASE FIREHOSE
PUBLISHED FEBRUARY 28, 2025 · EVERY DAY
EDITIONStail|grep|head|ls|diff|uniq
The daily firehose — everything the toolchain shipped today, already filtered.
We read every release from the 1309 tools on our watchlist at the source — GitHub and GitLab release notes, vendor release pages and changelogs, project blogs and feeds, vendor press releases, and the source code behind the tag. Bug-fix-only releases and non-product newsroom noise are dropped; what's left is summarized down to the new capability, how to try it, and any screenshots or videos the release itself published. Every entry links to the sources it was built from.
READ AS
Focus:What features shipped and what problems they solve, plus launches, packaging and where the market is moving.
Leaves out:Command-line flags, API-only deltas, usage examples, and releases that are only refinements.
Focus:New security controls, new APIs, and product improvements you can put to work, plus anything an upgrade breaks.
Leaves out:Launch and marketing news, governance, pricing, and documentation changes with no operational effect.
Focus:Dashboards, reporting, and anything you can quantify: metrics, coverage, risk scores, compliance impact, vendor moves.
Leaves out:Settings, flags, API and command-line detail, library bumps, and minor releases with no reporting or posture angle.
Focus:API, SDK and MCP changes, new libraries, breaking changes in what you import, and cyber tooling.
Leaves out:Governance, SOC operations, and vendor launches with no developer surface.

dnsx v1.2.2 adds DNS over SOCKS5SOCKS5A proxy protocol that relays TCP and UDP traffic through an intermediary server without inspecting it, letting cyber tools tunnel connections through firewalls or pivot hosts with minimal overhead. proxy support for anonymous or proxied DNS resolution.

Supports routing DNS queries through a SOCKS5 proxy for anonymous or network-constrained resolution.
xnLinkFinder v6.7 adds TLDTLDThe rightmost label in a domain name (e.g., .com, .gov, .uk), maintained by IANA's root zone. Cyber tools filter or pivot on TLDs to scope scans, flag suspicious registrations, or classify traffic by geography or type.-aware filtering and a new --all-tlds flag to control domain false-positive rates.

Restrict discovered domain links to a custom TLD list by editing commonTLDs in your config before running a focused engagement.
$ # In config.yml, add or trim entries under commonTLDs:
# commonTLDs:
# - com
# - io
# - net
xnLinkFinder -i https://example.com
New commonTLDs config key in config.yml (top 50 TLDs) lets users define which TLD set is used to filter discovered domain links.
New -all/--all-tlds flag returns links with any TLD, trading precision for recall when broader coverage is needed.
Extra-regex domain extraction now filters out invalid TLDs, too-short labels, and a hardcoded blocklist of common variable/JS names to cut false positives.
Excludes any discovered links that begin with a - character.
xnLinkFinder v6.5 adds TLDTLDThe rightmost label in a domain name (e.g., .com, .gov, .uk), maintained by IANA's root zone. Cyber tools filter or pivot on TLDs to scope scans, flag suspicious registrations, or classify traffic by geography or type.-validated regex expansion and quote-encoding normalization to surface more links with fewer false positives.

Adds a secondary regex pass that catches previously missed links by validating discovered URLs against a TLD check before including them.
Normalizes multiple encodings of double quotes to " before link extraction to maximize links found in encoded content.
Filters outbound requests to only follow links whose TLD is valid, reducing noise during active crawling.
BloodHound v7.0.0 adds CoerceAndRelayNTLMToSMB detection, a new vertical nav, Cypher shortcuts, and expanded posture/findings APIs.

multimon-ng 1.4.0 adds partial JSON output, UTC ISOISOA widely adopted international standards body that publishes technical specifications; cyber tools cite ISO standards to signal compliance with recognized benchmarks for quality, security, or interoperability.-8601 timestamps, and FLEX offset estimation.
